What is your core function?

I lead the monitoring and assessment of Jamaica's health status to ensure the provision of quality information that offers Jamaicans a glimpse into the nation’s health. This includes overseeing the collection, integration, analysis, synthesis, and reporting of population health data into actionable information for the Ministry of Health and Wellness to support policy, planning, and improved health outcomes. This involves coordinating with multiple stakeholders across different sectors to drive initiatives that strengthen health information systems and improve the quality, accessibility, and use of health data.

My vision for the Ministry of Health & Wellness is to have real-time data readily available to support timely, evidence-based decision-making. This will enable more effective planning, improved service delivery, and better health outcomes for all.

What do you enjoy about your job?

I enjoy knowing that the work I do contributes to effective decision-making. I also appreciate the opportunity to learn new skills and collaborate with my colleagues on projects to achieve meaningful outcomes.
